Lee Hess
Among Mr. Hess' activities, he is Chairman of Spectrum Capital Enterprises, Inc.
Spectrum’s interests range from Canadian hotels to DIRECTV and broadband programming initiatives. Spectrum 
created INSTALLS Inc, LLC, a national installer of home services covering all continental zip codes. INSTALLS Inc, LLC serves the customers of major retailers including Best Buy, Sears, Costco, Dell Computer and Geek Squad. INSTALLS Inc, LLC is now jointly owned by Spectrum and a $1.5 billion private equity company. Previously Spectrum owned exclusive DIRECTV programming territories in ten states. As Chairman of Spectrum Capital Enterprises, Mr. Hess and his partners led the development of the Polaris Fashion Mall retail area and freeway interchange in Columbus Ohio.
Prior to creating Spectrum, Mr. Hess was senior vice president of Wendy’s International directing the growth of their national franchising network, real estate, corporate finance, and overseeing the operation of 4,000 restaurants. In addition, he was previously a McDonald’s franchisee in New York.
Mr. Hess is an active member of the advisory boards of the Ohio Center of Science & Industry; the University of Michigan School of Information, and The Ohio State University Center for Real Estate Education and Research.
Mr. Hess has an MBA from Harvard, an MA in Communications from Stanford, and a BA from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Hess' primary areas of interests for assisting companies are: one, helping organizations create the systems to manage national programs; two, franchising; and three, residential home services. Mr. Hess has extensive industry experience in consumer electronics, restaurants, and home service industries. Additionally, in the past year he has provided advice to major private equity companies including The Carlyle Group.
